THE WEST SUFFOLK HOSPITAL NHS TRUST WELCOMES THE UTAG

The West Suffolk Hospital based in Bury St Edmunds Suffolk has checked their sytems due to a new security update and have approved the use of the UTAG.

The Information Governance Manager agreed that the UTAG could be very beneficial to the patient and the medical staff, although the UTAG would be used
as a guide only in the first instance, the UTAG could help to identify the patient if unable to speak due to an accident or ilness, furthermore any medical conditions, allergies or medication can be noted very quickly using the UTAG as well as Emergency Contact Information such as your next of kin could be checked and used, this is very important if you are out of town and the local hospital do not
have your records or if they are out of date.

The senior Consultant in charge of the Accident & Emergency Department pointed out that the UTAG could prove very important for Advance Directives, he also commented on the print functionality being useful, this facility is currently found
on the new version UTAG software v1.2

UTAG UPDATE SERVICE

We have had a very good response to our new UTAG Update Service

Wearers of the UTAG have been able to update their software with ease, we have had many letters and emails thanking us for our dedicated support team who are available from 10am - 10pm daily.

We are asked what are the benefits of updating the UTAG!

The benfits are very important if you purchased the very first Utag digital Dog Tag or Utag ICE Card
Do you have the old version 1.0 or 1.1 software. You can check this by plugging in your UTAG
and checking the version number on the top left of the public information screen
as shown below.

Benefit 1:

PRINT FUNCTION - The new print function enables the Doctor or Nurse in A&E
to print out the information you have entered on the viewable UTAG screen.

Printing this information can speed up the process of 'booking you in' and so the details can be shown to multiple people at the same time if required, as you will see in the UTAG screenshot below the new print function on the UTAG Software V1.2 is located at the top middle of the screen.

Benefit 2:

PRIVATE FOLDER - If you are constantly on the move, it is a good idea to carry copies of vital documents such as passport, driving licence, travel documents, health insurance membership etc. with you. ‘The ‘Private Folder’ gives you the opportunity to save copies of these documents (and any other document / spreadsheet you require) into a folder on your UTAG.

Benefit 3:

Any issues found with previous version will now be resolved.

Thank you to all of our customers who took the time to thank us for our assistance. Jonjoe

A Member of the British Forces Wrote To Us Recently About The UTAG..

Si Joyce -

I bought the UTAG Dog Tag at last year’s Birmingham Motorcycle Show after thinking what a great idea it was.

I am a member of the British Forces currently serving in Cyprus and two weeks ago was involved in a nasty motorcycle accident which left me semi conscious and unable to move.

Luckily, earlier that day I had been showing my mates the UTAG and they brought it to the attention of the ambulance paramedics when they arrived.

Although the UTAG software does not translate to Greek, they were able to take my UTAG and use it in A&E to note my medical details and my specific medical condition which could have been life threatening had they not known about it.

Cyprus is not a massively advanced country but the medical staff were able to identify how to use the USB Dog Tag without issue.

I am so glad I had the UTAG it may have saved my life!!It was a good days work when I bought UTAG - It certainly does what it says on the tin!!

What is a UTAG?

UTAG

History
The creator of UTAG was often working in dangerous environments and needed something that could store vital personal data, could easily be seen and identified as containing emergency information and be worn in a visible place.

He needed to carry all the information he felt was necessary to help in an emergency situation in a format that gave him the best possible chance of communicating with emergency services. His solution was UTAG.

UTAG utilises the latest USB technology to give electronic data storage, in a style that is highly visible. It clearly displays the international medical symbol (the snake and staff) and the letters "ICE" an acronym recognised by Emergency Services meaning "In Case of Emergency".
The initial version mimicked a traditional dogtag and could be worn as a dogtag, a zip pull or on a key ring. As the idea developed, a smaller more compact version was created along with a credit card version which can be carried in a wallet or purse. All are carried or worn in areas where trained emergency workers will automatically look to find information about the carrier.

The unique software that was developed includes emergency phone contacts, photo ID, doctor's details and medical information (all fields are optional). The "tick box" design means that it can be translated into seven European languages simply by pressing on the appropriate language flag (excepting any free text entered).

The idea is simple yet highly effective. It was quickly picked up by the motorcycle community as the rugged dogtag style perfectly fitted not only the needs of the modern motorcyclist on our busy roads but also the look and style.
However the success is spreading as more and more people see the benefit of carrying UTAG. Cyclists, runners, horse riders, skateboarders, ramblers etc. all see the benefit of carrying essential information just in case.

But UTAG is for more than just medical emergencies. The addition of the "Private Folder" means that the wearer of the UTAG now has the ability to carry vital documents such as passport, driving licence, insurance etc. in a secure way. It utilises encryption technology that means any files saved can only be accessed using the owners own personally chosen password.
When travelling abroad in particular the UTAG wearer can have the comfort of having any emergency information available in any of 7 European languages and hold secure copies of essential documentation. Why wouldn't you have one? - www.digitaldogtag.co.uk

UTAG ICE CARD

UTAG ICE CARD

UTAG is the USB PC compatible ice card that stores vital personal information, designed to be the first point of reference in an emergency.

No longer are you reliant on other people or restricted to bracelets and neck chains that have fold out paper sections that hold limited amounts of information.

The UTAG ICE Card holds it all and is password protected so only you can edit those details.

The UTAG ICE Card costs only £19.75
